*note: scenes were based from acutal events that happened that frightful night... this does not necessarily mean this is what really happened that night. It was too traumatic... I decided to forget it.
"Ok, after you have said your prayers, pass the papers to the back. You have 3 hours to finish the test."
OK, that sounded like a death wish... or a man being put to death. Got my paper.
Writes ID number on the paper
First obstacle, multiple choice... # 1... hmm, not so bad.
Scribbles on the paper.
# 2... ah!
Encircles correct(according to me) answer
# 3... hmm.. was that a mortgage bond or a debenture?
Skips to next question
#4... ok... debt or the interest risk rate?
Skips to the next question
Seeing that I'm skipping more than I'm answering, I turned the pages and skimmed through the entire test...what the..? Did I remember even studying THESE???
Ok, Short problems... #1... skip... #2... skip... #3... yes! I can put my ink to good use.
Scribble...scribble...
#4... you are so dead girl.
#5... was it annual dividends over investor's required rate of return?
#6...*stares*.... I think I'll go to the next part.
*gasp!*
Long Problems (45 pts.)
You are one dead girl...
#1... 18 points... calculate the EBIT-EPS indifference point... hmm, this is not so bad... next, graph to illustrate the intersection of two options... huh? We didn't even do graphs in class...
Looks around the hall to see more people spaced out than Night of the Living Dead.
Nice pun! Tonight IS the night of the living dead... I'm one of them.
#2.... 15 points... compute for the internal capital equity and compare with external capital equity.. Mommy!...Daddy! huhuhu...
#3... 12 points... given these options for a financial capital structure, compare all projects and choose the best and explain with a graph showing the IRR together with the.....
It was only 730 and it felt like I've been kept in a timeless room. People were motionless as they attempted to answer questions they have never encountered in their life...
It was a nightmare.. except that I wasn't home sleeping with Pagong.
Two days worth of studying finance was not enough... but only two meetings with the teacher to discuss valuation of stock, bonds, cost of capital and EBIT-EPS weren't enough either.
It was a massacre... and we were all in it.
I wasted ink... writing formulas... half-hearted solutions, in the hopes of getting partial points.
In between, I calculated my realistic grade... even if I failed this exam, I won't have to worry taking the Masteral Course (Finance- take 2!)... but the grade won't be a pretty sight either.
After the test, everyone seemed to agree that there were many items in the test (with major points) that were not taught by our teacher. I saw people crying their eyes out after. I knew right then that we had casualties.
It was not a pretty sight.
My girl buddies, who were also dormers near school, asked me to join them drown their sorrows away. If I wasn't going "home", I would have gladly lost myself in the alcohol.
