Guilty Grins

Besides the ocassional ground whenever my skin touches the metal part of the pushcart, I can say that I have been most happy... well, guiltily happy. I'm now inside the Business Class Lounge in Changi Airport, after declaring myself almost bankrupt and having nothing else to do but gawk and drool at items with their ridiculous prices. I swear, some people really just buy for the brand name and not the item itself!

I'm not proud of the fact that I am a impulsive buyer (which means spending an hour or so in the shop to debate within my conscience whether I need it or just plain want it.

But I do know that I spend well within my account. Mom holds my dollar account and just credits it to my account whenever I buy something categorized as a LUXURY ITEM.

Anyway, guilty pleasures were made yesterday in Orchard Road. My, it was simply sinful. Hush Puppies was on sale and HSBC credit cards are given 20% off when used. Got this cute beige mary janes! Lacoste was 40% off (Mom couldn't resist buying a shirt for herself). Anne and I bought a very cute blue IPOD Mini (less GST of course!). And let us not forget tons and tons of Giordano, at which all items were 20% off!

Ok, so the Ipod will be charged to Dad's account, but we're buying the accessories using our own money (...after 5 years).

After immigration, Anne and I bought flash disks for school. I then bought two novels, which I am very excited to read (sleepless nights and eye damage, here I come!).

One was Tyrant by Valerio Manfredi. I have ALL his books on historical fiction. This includes Spartan (loved it!) and Alexander Trilogy (waaaay better than the movie) among others. This is his latest work. I love historical novels, especially ones in Ancient Greece or Rome.

The other is Atlantis, which is a new book. I was impressed by the synopsis so I decided to give it a chance.

And there you have it... backtracking to my spending extraordinaire capabilities.

But I mean, this is why we save during school days, right??? I save because I'll be wanting to buy a lot of things during summer...and what better way than to buy it in a country that's on sale and gives GST refunds!

Last bit, I met my English blockmate here in downtown, in Kinokuniya, to be exact. He's also my classmate in Philosophy. He's a Philo major, by the way. He also spends his vacation here in Singapore. And his course is nice because they DON'T have summer classes.

As for me, I ALWAYS have summer classes... well, because my course tells me so and the fact that I'm trying to hopefully complete two minors before I graduate. Yeah, I'm a masochist, so what else is new?

Anyway, all this shopping killed my legs (and I thought I was an athlete) and I'm dying for food. So kill me!

Tomorrow, it'll be reality again... school starts on Thursday...

Later!

don't we all wish we could just be lazy and not do anything? but then that would mean - no quality of life! I read 'ya.
